EPHS School Directory and PTO Volunteer Opportunities Description

Detailed description of each of the school PTA volunteer opportunities for the year 2014-15 is provided below including the school directory:

• Book Scanning: help check out textbooks to students using a hand-held scanner. Help is needed at the beginning and end of each semester.
• Boosters: help support ALL co-curricular activities
• Business & Marketing Dept:

• Career Speaker: speakers are needed to informally share your career with a group of 10-12 students in our Careers class.
• CRC Naviance Volunteers: receive training about Naviance, the online college and career planning tool. Then help students in Connections classes at various times during the year
• Chaperones: we need you for dances and other activities during the school year.
• Clerical Support and One Time Projects: help on an as-needed basis
• EPHS Outreach/Volunteer Room: assist students looking for opportunities and interact with community agencies regarding volunteer opportunities. Commitment is 11am – 1:00pm each week for a training period. After training, the commitment can be weekly or bimonthly.
• Library: volunteer for a variety of tasks in the EPHS Library including help with ID photos and ID card distribution, shelving, processing new materials, inventory, and other projects.
• Music: piano accompanist, file music, data entry, ushering, and video recording.

• On-Site College Admission Day: help facilitate On-Site College Admission Day in October
• Pictures and Student Schedules: Assist with school pictures and hand out student schedules at our Back to School kickoff in August.
• Picture make-up and retakes: Assist with school pictures in the fall.
• PIN numbers: volunteer in the cafeterias the first week of school looking up lunch codes. Prom: Parent volunteers needed in April for Prom ticket sales.
• Resource Center Volunteers: Volunteer to work in one of five Resource Centers: Business, English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
• Senior Party: Help organize & staff the senior party after graduation. Junior parents also needed!
• Sewing Classes: help with basic machine and hand sewing.
• Spirit Store: Work for the EPHS Boosters selling clothing and spirit items.
• PTO Team and Events: Be part of the PTO Team and assist and coordinate parent events.
• Staff Appreciation Support: support teacher and staff with your donation and baked goods during the Staff Appreciation events (3-4 times a year).
• Community Education Advisory Council: Make recommendations about policies, programs, and budgets for Community Ed. Services to meet needs and interests of community members. It meets five times a year, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. generally on the third Wednesday of September, November, January, March and May. Contact (952) 975-6948 for more information.
• Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools (FEPS): FEPS sponsors the Taste of Eden Prairie, the FEPS Golf Classic, the Legacy Awards, and the 5K Run for EP Schools. Volunteers are needed for all events. Call: 952-975-7205 for more information.
• Taste of Eden Prairie: Join the event planning committee for this district wide fundraiser that starts work in October for this February event.
• Activity Office: Assist with sports tournament ticket sales and other activities.

METRO SOUTH ADULT BASIC EDUCATION
• Metro South ABE needs adult volunteers to help tutor adult English language learners. If interested contact them at 952-681-6170.
