What did we learn from a recent Parent Survey on the MobileArq Online School Directory?
User feedback is extremely important in helping to make MobileArq a very useful and valuable communication tool for K-12 school parents. Towards the end of 2014, a simple multiple-choice survey was sent to over 2,000 users of MobileArq School Directory. From the user feedback, we learned what resonated with the parents and what did not. Summary of the results are highlighted below:
A ‘thumbs up’ from MobileArq users
- Over 85% of the participants chose the option that they would be very disappointed if MobileArq services were discontinued.
- A similar number would recommend MobileArq to another school or a friend to use.
- Most of them commented that the convenience of having the entire phone book of the school on their phone is the most attractive feature.
Several of the benefits of the MobileArq School Directory as provided by the parents include the following:
- Quick access to phone numbers and teacher emails. Don’t have to search for a lost paper directory
- Find parents of new friends
- Easy access to contacts
- Contacts wherever I go on my mobile
- Able to have information on my fingertips
- School directory on my phone wherever I am”
- Being able to connect with other families, even when away from home
- I don’t have to send notes to School
- Look up classmates address and phone numbers
We also got feedback from 5% of the parents surveyed who did not have a good user experience due to the following:
- Unable to find the information that they wanted in the directory.
Investigation of this issue revealed that a number of parents are unaware of the ‘Global Search’ feature in the MobileArq School Directory, located on the home page, above the five tabs. Typing your query in the search box will yield a list of results that match the query, by each category, e.g., students, parents, teachers and calendar events.
- Unable to find the MobileArq App
MobileArq has provided an Online School Directory App on the App Stores since September 2014. Downloading the MobileArq App on your phone will make the setup and login process much easier for anyone. Those who are unable to login should always contact mobilarq@support.com or their directory chair for help.
MobileArq will also provide users with a ‘Remember Me’ feature to help the users save the login and password on their phones.
